Greetings RezDowntowners,
I hope this note reaches you doing well this Friday! It is a beautiful Friday morning in Lake Arthur, Louisiana (which is where Wendy and I have been since Tuesday). Today is Wendy's mom's birthday and it is so fun to be able to get back to the farm to celebrate with her in person. It's been a great week, but we'll be heading home in time for worship this Sunday. However, I have been celebrating great news coming out of Kansas City all week long! Last Saturday we wecolmed over 20 new members at our Coffee with the Pastors event. On Sunday we had more than a dozen middle school students show up for our first ever RezLife Middle School Group, which was extraordinary! That group will continue to meet on Sunday mornings at 10:45 in our Grand location (1508 Grand Blvd.), so be sure to make it or invite families with middle school students to come and check it out! Then on Wednesday morning we had over 50 men show up at 7:00am to share in breakfast, conversation and fellowship at our First Men's Breakfast with Pastor Adam. It has been a great week! This weekend is shaping up to be the same.
On Saturday morning we'll be hosting the kickoff to our Women's Breakfast Series, featuring Laura Snapp at 9:00am. We're also launching our 10:15 worship service at 1508 Grand Blvd. We have also added childcare to this location, so that parents with young children can worship here as well. I'm really excited about this new worship service and its new time! This will serve as another way we seek to build Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious can become deeply committed by making room for more people! If you consider Resurrection Downtown to be your church home are you are currently worshiping at our 9:00 or 10:45 worship services, would you consider making 10:15 Grand your new worship time? This is a great way to help us live fully into our purpose. Click Here for a short video featuring the sign at our new location.
Finally, I’m excited to share that we are kicking off a new sermon series called The Call. We'll be taking a look at the Apostle Paul's life, mission and ministry. It will be a great chance to learn about and be inspired by someone who listened and responded to God's call in powerful ways that continue to have global impact. I hope you'll join us as we launch this new and powerful sermon series.
In the meantime, here are several ways to connect to the life of this church in the coming weeks:
