If you have been reading your RMN emails you have probably noticed that we are emerging out of a season of staff transition. I am so excited to be able to introduce you to our newest addition who comes to us from her good work at the United Methodist Women. Bridget Cabrera will be serving as the Network's new Deputy Director! Again, thank you for your prayers and patience as we seek out the best talent to lead our movement for a fully inclusive church. Be on the lookout for a special email celebrating the life of Bishop McLee on Sunday morning.

Bridget Cabrera to lead RMN as Deputy Director

Bridget Cabrera will serve as Reconciling Ministries Network’s Deputy Director. Prior to joining RMN, she served as Executive, National Ministries with United Methodist Women (UMW), national office. While with UMW, Bridget worked closely with 34 nonprofits across the country to develop their leadership, connect them to resources, and monitor their effectiveness. She wrote and designed worship experiences for UMW members for national gatherings, most recently the 2014 Women’s Assembly. Bridget has worked as the Associate Pastor of Young Adult Ministry at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew, Regional Organizer for RMN, Executive Director and Campus Minister of the University of North Alabama Wesley Foundation, and Assistant Director of Summer Camps at Camp Sumatanga. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Music Education and from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology with an M. Div. In Oct, 2014 Bridget will marry her partner Amanda and they will be relocating to Chicago from New York City with their two cats Felix and Amos.

North Central Regional Organizer: Job Announcement

Serve as the RMN regional organizer for the North Central Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church. Increase the number of new Reconciling communities, challenge and assist existing Reconciling settings to adopt deeper postures of welcome, increase the number of dedicated volunteers who are trained and active in faith-based community organizing, and network strategically to plan for actions that will ultimately affect systemic change within The United Methodist Church and beyond toward a church and society that genuinely welcomes and includes people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Applicants should have a passion for RMN’s mission and familiarity with UMC theology and form of governance. Please send resume and cover letter describing qualifications and interest in this position to careers@rmnetwork.org by September 25, 2014.
