Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Tuesday, 2 September 2014 "Malachai"

Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Tuesday, 2 September 2014 "Malachai"
Will a person rob God?  Yet you rob me.  But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'  In tithes and offerings...Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. (Malachai 3:8-10).
It doesn't always happen this way, but it really did happen this way just the other day. Jan and I were trying to decide between two different amounts to give to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Mission Box at Trinity - between a lesser amount and a greater amount; we went with the greater amount, and just that very same afternoon, I got an unexpected check in the mail for one of the books I had written several years ago. Now, the check would have come that day anyway (I guess!), but we received it as a joyful affirmation from God of our decision, and also of the text above. It was kind of cool for us.  I'm sure you have similar stories you could share.
Blessings, Dan
