PRAISES:
JESUS Film Praise from Ecuador
"A few months ago, the evangelism team began to hold JESUS Film showings in a particular village. By means of these projections, the new mission began to grow. They began to rent a small place for them to meet, and in every showing new people were converted and follow-ups began. The group grew in every way spiritually, numerically, and doctrinally. Finally, a new church was organized with its own pastor, local church board, respective ministries, and an average of 60 people every week. Glory to God!"  Click hereto keep up with what God is doing through JESUS Film Harvest Partners.

GLOBAL MINISTRY REQUESTS
34 Churches Submerged
Seasonal floods have ravaged parts of Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Bangladesh in recent weeks. The Bangladesh District Superintendent, Nathan, said, “Vast areas of Naogaon and the surrounding area are under water. These areas do not normally experience the seasonal flooding because they are on higher ground—they are not ready for it. Now 34 of our churches are dumped under water! Together with multitudes of people, thousands of Nazarenes and their pastors have lost all they have.” Please pray for all people who are affected by the flooding. Click here to read more from NCN News.
Flooding submerges 34 Nazarene churches in BangladeshWednesday, October 8, 2014Eurasia RegionSeasonal floods ravaged parts of Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Bangladesh over the last two months, reportedly submerging 34 Nazarene churches in Bangladesh. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Bangladesh is hurrying to respond.
Flooding in the country's northern districts has worsened as rain continues to fall, leaving thousands of people stranded. The rising Choto Jamuna and Atrai rivers left about 200,000 people in the area marooned.
The flood has affected 34 churches in Naogoan and Joypurha and 7,000 households. These familes' homes are now under water, leaving them with little to eat, and diarrhea and disease on the rise. Immediate relief is essential for church and community members to survive. Communication and transportation have been disrupted, cutting off neighboring communities. Electricity has not been reestablished, and there is no way to cook food due to rain and water logging. Education facilities are also disrupted.
The government has requested all nongovernmental organizations help affected people.
A team was sent to assess the needs. NCM plans to provide dry food to 1,500 households and additional community people. The organization is using 100,000 taka (1,287 USD) from its reserve fund to address these essentials.
Needs include:Dry foodSafe drinking waterTemporary shelterHouse building materials Sanitation itemsIn addition, Cyclone Hudhud is heading toward north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha — along the east coast of India — and is predicted to make landfall on 12 October with wind speeds up to 140 kilometers per hour, according to thehindu.com.
Prayer is requested for those affected by the floods and for those who will be impacted by the upcoming storm.

Extreme Nazarene
Extreme Nazarene Missions is mobilizing 80 pairs of "40/40 Church Planter Missionaries" (each 40/40 pair is made up of one South American and one North American), and hundreds of workers supporting the 40/40 pairs to plant 16 churches in 16 major metropolitan cities of South America. The following are ways you can pray for everyone involved in Extreme Nazarene:
  • Last weekend we had 40/40 interviews in Pilar, Argentina. Pray that from these interviews, Extreme will be able to complete the team for the Córdoba, Argentina church plant.
  • Pray for the Argentine 40/40s who were already selected for the Córdoba team as they raise funds and get ready to start their missionary training in January 2015.
  • Pray that God would move in the hearts of Chilean young people to call them to be 40/40 Church Planters in Antofagasta, Chile.
  • Extreme currently has a short-term volunteer team from the U.S. in Ambato, Ecuador, helping with the construction of their new church building. Pray for the team.
  • Pray for continued growth of the church plant in Ibarra, Ecuador, as the 40/40 Church Planters continue discipling and raising up new church leaders.

About Extreme Nazarene Missions

We are an organization that lives in a discipleship culture. Our current projects are church plants throughout South America, so naturally a large part of what we do is spiritual development; i.e., evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, etc. That all sounds rather predictable, but our passion is a lot more inspiring than following a playbook. This focus to plant churches comes from our passion to bring people the hope of Christ.
Our passion came about a few years into our existence when we started asking the question, “why are we doing this?” What’s the central reason why we exist? What we found made us feel small. The reason we’re here is so much bigger than what we could ever become.
We started to look at the world around us, and we saw so much pain, suffering, and evil. Of course, you say, a mission organization would say that what the world really needs is Jesus. Typical Sunday School answer that may be, but it’s 100% true. What we see in the world is that a large portion of the issues therein are heart issues. And who is the only One capable of changing a man’s heart? Jesus. This is how we arrived at our conclusion, and our passion, that we can change the world by focusing on changing hearts.
One of our great values in Extreme is the Body of Christ. Part of our vision is to utilize people on the field according to their strengths, experiences and resources; meaning, you don’t have to be a “missionary” to do mission work. People serve with more passion when they are doing what they do best, and that’s exactly how we like it.
It’s absolutely exhilarating to be a part of God’s plan bring restoration back to His creation. Our story does not lack struggles, but we’ve learned from our past experiences and continue to learn from what the mission field shows us.
We currently plant churches in South America using the 40/40 Method. This is a church planting strategy that utilizes a team of 10 North and South American young adults (40/40s), a North American married couple (Cluster Coordinators) and a national Pastoral couple. The team is sent to a city that is predetermined by the leadership of the Nazarene church in that country. The goal is that by the end of two years the missionaries with Extreme will have duplicated themselves in the people of the plant and can step back confident that the church will continue to grow on it’s own. It’s a beautiful way of seeing the church mature.
