30 HOURS of PRAYER ***************** BAPTISM
Mark your calendars now for a powerful time of seeking God as a community - the 30 Hours of Prayer event is happening the weekend ofNovember 8-9. The 30 hours begin Saturday, Nov. 8, 9am-12pm, gathering for breakfast together, sessions on prayer, and prayer activities. For the remainder of Saturday, to continue in a spirit of corporate prayer, guides for hourly prayer and a prayer walk will be provided. The 30 hours end Sunday morning and will include time in both services for praying throughout our church campus. It will be an exciting morning, as we alsocelebrate baptisms at 10am in the Friendship Plaza. If you are interested in baptism, let our church office know:

FALL CHOIR
Choir has begun for adults and teens. Singers from both services are invited to join. Choir regularly performs in the Classic service and for special events. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:00pm (Christmas choir from 7:30-8:00pm) and Sunday mornings at 8:15am.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Children’s Choir has begun for all kids who are 4 (as of Sept. 1, 2014) to 12 years old. Kids meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm in the Children’s Building to rehearse a Christmas musical that they will perform in the 10:20am service on December 14. Kristi and Wyatt Ehrlich, married on September 20, are graduates of PLNU, active in the university community and at SDFC. Wyatt works part-time as an administrative assistant at SDFC. Both he and Kristi work full-time on campus, Wyatt as an admissions counselor, and Kristi as an assistant resident director. All are welcome to celebrate at a Come & Go Brunch in Bowes Conference Room. The couple is registered at JC Penney's.

Throughout the school year, tutoring takes place on Tuesday nights from 5:00 - 6:30pm at Ibarra Elementary in City Heights. Families can tutor together, and all age groups are welcome.

Dear SDFC and friends,
Kelly Mitchell, PLNU Regional Development Director, Department of External Relations, and a member of our Sojourners Sunday School class has provided the following information regarding the loss of her mother. Please keep Kelly and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
Patricia McCormick Rickon went to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 28th after experiencing a fall that ended in a massive head injury. During the week between her accident and death, we have been blessed with the prayers and support of many of our Mother’s friends near and far. A two part service to celebrate her life and hope in the resurrection will be held at San Diego First Presbyterian Church, 320 Date Street, San Diego 92101. October 10 6-9pm West Room - a time to share stories and reminisce October 11 2:30pm Sanctuary - memorial service
