Chosen, a sex trafficking prevention video for parents and youth, tells the shocking true story of two ‘All-American’ teenage girls tricked into trafficking. Eighteen-year-old Brianna was an honor-roll student, cheerleader and worked at a local café. Thirteen-year-old Lacy was an active member of her youth group, and a volunteer in her community. Both were manipulated. Both were exploited. Both were CHOSEN!
With the passage of California Senate Bill 1165, your teens will soon be receiving education about how to identify potential risks and avoid becoming a victim – it’s time for parents and the public to become educated as well. Grossmont Union High School District Assistant Principal, Jenee Litrell will share why it is so important that parents and educators know how to recognize the signs and how SB 1165 may be implemented in your school.
The screening will be followed by the panel discussion with local experts on teen sex trafficking. Panelists include: Daphne Phung, Founder, California Against Slavery; Wendy Patrick, Deputy District Attorney, Sex Crimes & Human Trafficking Division; Laura McLean, Victims Services Leader; Colleen Stanich, National City Police Department; and Jenee Littrell, Assistant Principal, Grossmont Union High School District.
