Changes to Africa Regional Conference 2015

At the beginning of this year, I announced plans to convene the Regional Conference, in March 2015, at the Good News Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
One of the criterion for the Regional Conference is to ensure that we are able to invite/bring, district and institutional representatives to gather together for a time celebration, planning, prayer and inspiration.
The Regional Conference is set to be a time to celebrate what the Lord is doing in, and through the Church of the Nazarene in Africa. It is also a time for prayer, and discernment of God's direction for the Church in Africa. As we consider the future it is critical for district and institutional representatives to work together to develop strategies to fulfill the Great Commission.
As we have planned and prepared for the conference, we realized there are several circumstances that could hinder the participation of representatives from all districts, fields and institutions on the Africa Region. When presented with the challenges, the Regional Advisory Council and Field Strategy Coordinators, developed and approved a plan to convene the Regional Conference in three different locations of the Region, on different dates.
This decision was taken after much prayer and consultation with several leaders across the Region. While this is not what we had originally planned, we recognize that sometimes unexpected circumstances necessitate extraordinary decisions. There are also wonderful benefits that come from this decision. One of the main benefits is that, convening the Regional Conference in three locations, will allow us to greatly increase the number of participants and district and institutional representatives in these gatherings.
The first Conference will be hosted in March 2015, in South Africa, as originally planned and it will bring together participants from Africa South Field, Africa South East Field and Africa Lusophone Field.
The second conference will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, in a later date in 2015.
The third conference will be held in Africa West Field, in 2016.
I will work with the FSCs of ACF, AEF and AWF on the exact dates, and locations for these conferences.
The Regional Conference Committee will continue to work with me to prepare for the conference that will be held in March 2015, in South Africa.
We hope to have more details in the next 10 days to ensure smooth planning for the convening of the Regional Conference in three locations.
Your brother,
Fili
