Our church will be partnering again this year with the Kansas City Rescue Mission to help with their Thanksgiving meal TOMORROW, November 22. Volunteers are needed to help with set up, meal prep, and meal service at KCRM. If you would be interested in helping in any way, please contact Lori Misemer at lorimisemer@comcast.net. |
| All-Church Thanksgiving Meal |
You are invited to an all-church Thanksgiving meal THIS Sunday, November 23 following the morning service! Everyone is asked to bring one side dish, according to the first letter of your last name:
A-G: Dessert
H-L: Vegetables
M-Q: Dressing or Potatoes
R-Z: Salad
If you would be interested in helping the community team with prep or clean-up, please contact the church office. 30 volunteers are needed to help prepare the turkey. At this meal, we will be accepting offerings for World Missions, those affected by the recent changes at Nazarene Publishing House, and those with our congregation who are in times of distress due to job loss or physical restrictions.

The Advent season begins this year on November 29! In preparation, we will meet in the sanctuary foyer this Sundayafter the all-church lunch to decorate our church building. Please contact the church office to sign up to help (kcfc@kcfc.org or 816.942.9022).

First Church's Christmas Post Office will open nextSunday, November 30 in the front entry! Please feel free to send Christmas cards to anyone in our church family--cards left for our homebound will be delivered before Christmas. There is no cost for this service. |
| MNU Band Concert--British Invasion |
| Featuring British music & composers this concert will highlight the prolific British influence on the modern wind band. The concert, featuring the 2014 Concert Band directed by Luke Johnson, will be presentedThursday, December 4 at 7:30pm in the Bell Cultural Events Center on MidAmerica Nazarene University. | Our First Church family includes many who rarely get the opportunity to enter our building. Our Christmas tradition is to deliver poinsettias or other expressions of care and connection to our homebound. You, your family, or your Sunday School class can sign up to sing carols, pray, and deliver gifts on Sunday, December 7. Please see Pastor Anne on Sunday or send her email (ahardy@kcfc.org) to sign up, or for more ideas of ways you can extend care this Christmas. |
| We will be collecting crisis care kits throughout the month of December. These kits are used to respond to needs all over the world in times of crisis. You can pick up ziplock bags, and the list of requested items, at the Compassion table in the foyer. Please return the filled bags to the church anytime in the month of December. |
Show the love of Christ to a child in foster care this Christmas by providing gifts for them. Please grab a tag from the Christmas tree in the foyer, purchase the suggested gift (or something similar) and place it under the tree in the foyer (unwrapped, with the suggestion tag attached) before December 7.

Plan now to attend our 2014 choir & orchestra Christmas concert on December 21 at 6pm! This year, we will partnering with the Belton New Horizons Church of the Nazarene. An additional concert will also be performed at Belton New Horizons on December 14 at 6pm. Invitation cards for both concerts will be available for you at the greeters' desks on Sunday.

| Nazarene Youth Conference |
Next July, our teens will be joining around 9000 other teenagers from around the world for Nazarene Youth Conference in Louisville, KY. Through an experience overflowing with dynamic speakers, powerful worship services, high-energy concerts, and service opportunities, NYC 2015 can be a time of great transformation for our young people. Our youth group will be devoting the majority of their fundraising to this event for the next year. If you would be interested in learning more, or in helping to sponsor a teen, please contact Pastor Roland.

Our Work and Witness Trip to Big Lake, Alaska is scheduled for
July 6 - 16, 2015. Join Pastor Brad and Dawn Estep as the team works on renovations and improvements at Camp Maranatha. We will be putting together a team of people with varied skills and abilities and are particularly interested in including those who have never had an opportunity to participate in Work and Witness before. The cost for this trip will be approximately $1300. Please see Jo Ann Blevins at the Compassion table in the Foyer this Sunday to pick up an application.

Our church is now able to receive donations and payments through online giving! You may access our secure online giving page by visitinggiving.kcfc.org. You can set up an account for quick access, set up recurring payments, or simply use the "Quick Give" option to give without setting up an account. Every Wednesday at 5:15pm a hot meal is served in the gymnasium for any who wish to attend! Meals are $4.50/person or $15/family. Interested in helping to prepare a meal? Contact the church office (816.942.9022)!

| Serving Women in Frantic Times (SWIFT) |
| Women of all ages are invited to this informal time of fellowship every other Wednesday to celebrate life and support each other! This group is dedicated to strengthening relationships and learning to laugh together. Email Emily Neeld at eneeld@att.net for more information! |

Praying Together as a FamilyThe Prayer Chapel located on the West side of the sanctuary is always open for prayer. You are also welcome to gather in the sanctuary for a time of prayer every Sundaymorning from 8am-9am.
Every Friday morning at6:30am, a group of men meets at First Church for a time of sharing and prayer together over breakfast.
On the first Saturday of the month, a group of ladies meet at the Panera at 103rd & State Line for a time of fellowship and prayer.
