1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

ENCOURAGEMENT
I write this devotional for all of those people who may be struggling and need encouragement. We all go through tough times or seasons of struggles. It was during this season of struggles that I recently was able to grow in my relationship with Christ.
Through these struggles, I began to learn who Christ really is and that he is always there, even when it doesn’t seem like it. Up until this time, I had the need to try and solve problems on my own and didn’t really turn things over to the Lord. Even though I’m a work in progress, I’m much better now at relying on our Creator and walking in the peace that he wants to give us all. Along this journey, many people encouraged me and one of the scriptures that comes to mind in addition to Psalm 23 is “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Several friends, and even people who didn’t even know me, would remind me of this Scripture and the fact that God is always in control.
If you are going through a difficult situation, I want to encourage you today and remind you that God is there. It may be hard to see, feel or hear him, but this difficult situation may just be the thing that brings you closer to the Lord. I know that I’m not the same person as before and my relationship with the Lord is completely different.
Lord, please strengthen each person receiving this message and help those who are struggling through the peace and comfort that can only come from you. Amen.
Blessings,
Heather White
