Trinity United Methodist Church from Gainesville, Florica, United States for Thursday, 8 January 2015 "Everything"
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God." (I Corinthians 10:31).
In 1725, at the age of 22, John Wesley was greatly impacted by reading Jeremy Taylor's "The Rule and Exercises of Holy Living," particularly the verse above. Wesley began a journey toward "holy living" wherein he sought to make sure everything he did would be done to the glory of God. "Instantly I resolved to dedicate all my life to God, all my thoughts, and words, and actions."
The idea of doing everything for the glory of God would become a mark of a Methodist, as it is hoped it would be of every Christian.
