I was asked by a friend, a fitness instructor to be an exercise model for a TV segment. No way! I said. Laughing at the thought, I added, "I'll probably look like a beached whale on TV." In Philippians 4-13, Paul writes, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". How many of us truly believe this when we say it? "You'll do fine, my friend said. Plus you'll be with another model." Reluctantly, I agreed. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Proverbs 18-21). I heard Pastor Winston quote this scripture often. So I had set myself up to fail. I practiced for hours, got little sleep and felt it showed the morning of the TV segment. I lost focus totally, heading out the door without even praying. After arriving at the TV station, one insecurity after another began to manifest, I was relieved when we finished taping, but must admit it was an opportunity that I should have enjoyed. On the way home, I reflected on my emotional state. So many times Pastor advised us to "Put on the full armor of God every morning when you wake up," "Memorize Ephesians 6 10-18," he would say. Shaking my head, I realized too late that I let the devil have his way with me. Putting on the armor right now I said out loud . I began to pray.

Yes... I think I believe. I do believe …. Hmmm do I believe? Well that’s how my life was until the 10th day of March! I was invited via text to a deliverance service that would take place January 16th. Thought about going but wasn’t really motivated, so I let the day and opportunity pass me by. It wasn't until a quiet (in my opinion), yet mighty woman of God got up before the church and gave her testimony about how she attended a deliverance service and had demonic spirits cast out of her did I feel the need to press for a change. Didn't really know what change I needed but I did know that a change was needed. My praise and prayer life was stale and very stagnant. I Knew who God was but often doubted if He knew who I was. It was like the more I pressed to do right the harder my life became to where I just became tormented and very afraid. So the evening of the deliverance service came and there I was thinking about not going. My daughter met me at my front door with her church clothes on said. “Momma, are you ready to get to church?”
I told her I wasn't for sure if we were going to go. She said, “But momma you promised.”
Not sure if I had promised or not, her wanting to go gave me a need to press. Got to church and as I sat there all I could think was there has got to be a reason I'm here. I remember saying to myself, “Lord show me.” DELIVERANCE service began and what do you know, I was the first to be delivered! Things that I had some idea was holding me back was cast out, different situations that I had never spoke of a day in my life were manifested and cast out. I left service that evening feeling so light and free! I went back to service the next night and God met me there again. Since my deliverance my relationship with my mother has gotten a whole lot better. My son and daughter were baptized upon their own will ( literally my daughter took my sons hand and led him to the altar. By the time I met up with them they were getting instructions on what to wear for the baptism service.) The same day they were baptized my mom looked at me and said, “I'm ready, but I need your help, I don't know where to start?” Ever since that day we have attended church service together!

Kingdom Favor
On April 24, 2016 Pastor Winston gave another powerful sermon that was based on God's favor. In this sermon he stated that some people feel like God doesn't give them favor because they struggle in their daily lives. We often forget that (Psalms 113:4-9) God sits high and looks low, he sees what we are going through. God will take us out of our situations and sit us among princes so we can be noticed. As pastor said, "He will pull us from the back of the line, to the front of the line." Sometimes we have to endure the hardships so that God can strengthen us and then give us the victory. The Lord also gives favor to those who are obedient to him and walking in the light. So we must flee from sin at all times in order to receive his favor. We must also be loyal and kind and then we will receive favor with both God and man (Proverbs 3:3-4). Another thing pastor talked about in this sermon was how when you are a child of God then you get special treatment. Since we are all God's favorites then he treats us as such and that means that we will get blessed at random times! There is no doubt about it that the Lord wants to shower us with blessings and favor. We must live right, endure pain, and keep moving forward in order to experience what God has in store for us.
