Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Wednesday, 30 July 2014 "Out of Egypt"

Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Wednesday, 30 July 2014 "Out of Egypt"
When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.  But the more I called Israel, the further they went from me.  I led them with cords of human kindness (hesed), with ties of love. (Hosea 11:1, 4).
Oh, the patience of God!  Like the patience of a loving parent. Such amazing love that is undeterred by human pride.  The apostle John writes of this in his first letter (I John 4:10 & 19): This is love: not that we loved God, but that God loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  We love because God first loved us.
I know of nothing greater than the power of God's love - to transform us, to empower us, to motivate us to love God and love others. Do you?
Pray about taking Disciple 1, 2, 3, 4 or Christian Believer this Fall. 34 weeks. Excellent. Sign ups late August.
