Dear Resurrection Family,
I just finished having lunch with Dr. Len Sweet, our keynote speaker at this year’s Leadership Institute. We finished Institute at 12:30 today and had a terrific event. More than 2,000 pastors and leaders from 750 churches joined us for two days of renewal and teaching. Through this event you touch the lives of over 100,000 people who attend these 750 churches. Think about that – 100,000 people will benefit from this event that you make possible.
I want to say how proud I am of our volunteers who give their time to bless, sing and play for, and encourage all of these leaders. I love you for that. And the reviews show again and again how loved they felt by you. And thank you to all who prayed for these leaders. I am convinced this has a palpable impact.
I’m completely spent right now – I had the joy of teaching five sessions over the last couple of days – about 10 hours worth of lectures. My voice is going and my body aches – but I feel such joy.
This weekend you have the joy of hearing Dr. Len Sweet at the Leawood and Blue Spring Campuses. Len has written more than 60 books. He’s a professor at two universities. He’s a thought leader, a church historian, a professor of evangelism and formerly president of a seminary. He has been called one of the ten most influential Christian thinkers in the world. To have him here preaching at Resurrection is a rare treat and one you will not want to miss. He spoke today at Institute and it was exceptional.
I’m heading to rest. I am so proud of the church you are and the way you care for other churches and their leaders.
