Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Friday, 26 September 2014 "I Want to See"
"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man (Batimaeus) said, "Rabbi, I want to see." "Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. (Mark 10:51, 52).
I've realized this week, in traveling with Mark, or rather with Jesus through the pages of Mark's Gospel, that although I've been a follower of Jesus almost all of my life, I'm still discovering blind spots within myself, the chief of which - at least this week - is too much reliance on myself; I want to see - see the presence and power of Jesus more fully in my life and ministry. Come, Lord Jesus; come in power and grace. Amen.
