Scripture - Revelation 19: Christ defeats the beast
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider was called Faithful and True, and he judges and makes war justly. 12 His eyes were like a fiery flame, and on his head were many royal crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He wore a robe dyed[a] with blood, and his name was called the Word of God. 14 Heaven’s armies, wearing fine linen that was white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword that he will use to strike down the nations. He is the one who will rule them with an iron rod. And he is the one who will trample the winepress of the Almighty God’s passionate anger. 16 He has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: King of kings and Lord of lords.
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he called out with a loud voice and said to all the birds flying high overhead, “Come and gather for God’s great supper. 18 Come and eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of the powerful, and the flesh of horses and their riders. Come and eat the flesh of all, both free and slave, both small and great.” 19 Then I saw that the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies had gathered to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was seized, along with the false prophet who had done signs in the beast’s presence. (He had used the signs to deceive people into receiving the beast’s mark and into worshipping the beast’s image.) The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake that burns with sulfur. 21 The rest were killed by the sword that comes from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds ate their fill of their flesh.[Footnotes:

"The Timeless Word" by Judyann Grant
While going through a box of old letters, I came across a birthday card my Brooklyn grandmother sent for my first birthday. The writing was legible–though the ink had begun to fade. Knowing my mother, she would have read the card numerous times to herself and then to me, before tucking it away for safe-keeping. The card was among her possessions I inherited after her passing.
Now, as I read the card all these years later, my heart is touched by the love my grandmother had for me and the prayers she offered on my behalf. Both my grandmother and mother devoted their lives to loving and serving Christ. I, too, serve the risen Savior. Yet, God doesn’t have grandchildren. Jesus, the Living Word, is new for every generation. We have a heritage of His love, yet we each make our own decision.
The Bible, God’s Word, is the foundation upon which we build our relationship with Christ, the Living Word. Jesus has the power to transcend time and space, past and future, the known and the unknown. God never changes. His Word will never fade.

Hymn for Today: "White Horse Rider" by David Paul & the People
Now I see the heavens open
& behold a white horse
& the name of Him who sits on him
Is Faithful and is True
In righteousness He judges
In righteousness makes war
The white horse & its rider
Amen & Alleluia
His eyes are flame of fire
& on His head are crowns
He has a name that’s written
That no one but Him knows
His robe is dipped with blood
& His name is Word of God
The white horse & its rider
Amen & Alleluia
He’s the White Horse Rider
Coming on the clouds
He’s the White Horse Rider
His kingdom is in hearts
Behold a sharp sword
Coming from His mouth
By which He’ll strike the nations
To rule with iron rod
In righteousness He judges
In righteousness makes war
The white horse & its rider
Amen & Alleluia
For He must tread the winepress
In fierceness & in wrath
& He must lead the armies
Of heaven & of God
& on His robe is written
& on His thigh as well
King of Kings &
Lord of Lords
