Dear Friends of NTS,
Your generous gifts are still coming in and we are so thankful for your support! We’re getting closer to meeting our $1,000,000 goal by fiscal year-end (June 30th, 2016). Reminder, we need another $200,000 in donations, large and small, to match a pending large gift of the same amount. I want to share another story from one of our students, so you can see exactly what your investment means.
“Hello! My name is Kevin Portillo, and I am a Master of Divinity student who just finished his second year at Nazarene Theological Seminary. I ended up at NTS through prayer. During my last semester as a Theology and Christian Ministry student at Point Loma Nazarene University, I was seeking counsel from friends, faculty, and staff about my academic future. It was because of those conversations that made it possible for me to pray, “Lord, if you desire for me to attend seminary, then you need to provide!” Dr. Carla Sunberg called me the week I was finishing up my NTS student application, and informed me that I was nominated to receive the President Leadership Grant, a $10,000 scholarship grant for my first year at NTS. Throughout my first two years in Kansas City, the Lord has continued to be faithful to me by providing the means to make my flourishing possible. (One of those means I tend to call “friends.”) I am currently an NTS recruiter for the Southwest and Northwest regions of the Church of the Nazarene, and I serve as the Vice President for our Student Leadership Team, a team of students who represent the voice of the student body.
I want to thank you from my inner most being for the gifts that you continue to provide to students, and my story would not be possible without those gifts. Again, thank you!”Why give to NTS?
