Orlando Jewish Community Updates
Recently, the Orlando Jewish community has not only grown in numbers but, has also grown in infrastructure.
Orlando Torah Academy, an Orthodox school in Orlando, in an innovative Crowdfunding/lending campaign, raised $1.8 million dollars in about 3 months to successfully purchase its building and has increased its enrollment by nearly 25% for next year.
Chabad of South Orlando has started construction on a brand new state-of- the-art Mikvah.
Orlando Torah Center, a nusach Ashkenaz shul, has started construction on its recently purchased property.
Orlando Jewish Day School, Chabad of South Orlando’s elementary school, has been honored by the Orange County Sheriff for achievements in education technology.
OVO ( Orthodox Vaad of Orlando) has constructed the very first Eruv in Orlando.
Chabad of South Orlando’s new facility is home to Chai Preschool an award-winning Reggio-inspired Jewish preschool for ages 6 months-5 years, weekly adult classes for men and women and Active Cteen for teenagers.
Beit Midrash of Orlando’s Sephardic community has also grown in size and currently offers 15 shiurim a week.
