"Teach Us How to Love Alike" Important mainly because of the people in the conversation. The United Methodist Church for Sunday, 23 April 2017
SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2017
A prayer by Bishop Rosemarie Wenner of the German Central Conference, leading the United Methodist Church in “Praying Our Way Forward” for the week of April 23-29, 2017.
Living God,
Your creation proves that you like and love diversity. In Christ you are connecting what is threatened to fall break apart. Your Holy Spirit teaches us how to build up one another.
We give you thanks for the richness with which we are entrusted in The United Methodist Church. Let us utilize the colorful gifts of your grace and teach us to love one another; so we can challenge one another to share your love with everyone. Teach us how to love alike although we do not think alike on many questions.
Make us instruments of your peace.
Amen.
Dear Members of the United Methodist Family around the world, I invite you to join me and the United Methodist people in Germany as we pray for:

Dear Members of the United Methodist Family around the world, I invite you to join me and the United Methodist people in Germany as we pray for:
the ministry of the congregations in The United Methodist Church throughout the world: that we are faithful to the call to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
the members of the Commission on a Way Forward and its moderators: that they are enabled to develop models on how to live unity in diversity.
the people in our congregations for whom homosexuality is not one issue to be discussed among many other issues, because they are personally affected: that they, nourished by God’s grace, can express their Christian faith and experience Christian fellowship in a helpful way.
the ministry and witness of the church in a world affected by divisions: that we are not centered on ourselves, but become peacemakers in the name of Jesus Christ.
