The Deaf Devo - The Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States for Wednesday, 2 August 2017 "God's Word" Bible Reading: Psalm 119:86-90
Psalm 119:86 All your mitzvot [show your] faithfulness;
they are hounding me with lies; help me!
87 They have nearly ended my life on earth,
but I have not abandoned your precepts.
88 In keeping with your grace, revive me;
and I will observe your spoken instructions.
ל (Lamed)
89 Your word continues forever, Adonai,
firmly fixed in heaven;
90 your faithfulness through all generations;
you established the earth, and it stands.

Mark was a college student. He heard that some students on campus were planning to burn Bibles. Mark was a Christian. So this news upset him.
Mark talked to some other Christians. They decided to do something that would honor God and His Word. They developed a plan to read the Bible publicly on the college campus for twenty-four hours. Mark was one of the students who participated in reading the Bible. When the time came for the Bible burning to happen, no one showed up! God's Word had remained strong.
Many times through history people have tried to destroy God's Word. But it will never happen. Verse 89 of our Bible Reading today says, "Lord, your word continues forever."
Even today, people are trying to stop God's Word. Remember to read the Bible today and share its message with others.
"The grass dries up and dies, and the flower falls to the ground. But the word of the Lord lasts forever. And that word is the Good News that was told to you." [1 Peter 1:24b-25]
PRAYER: God, thank You for the Bible. I want to study it every day. In Jesus' name. Amen.
