Weekly eNote from Pastor Jason Gant for Thursday, 7 June 2018 from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West in Olathe, Kansas, United States
Hi Resurrection West friends,

Pastor Chris here again. Pastor Jason is enjoying some vacation time with his family and will be back next week. Let’s continue to pray for safety and refreshment for the Gant family and for all our friends and family who are traveling this summer. Let’s also pray for our high school students and adult leaders who are currently serving in the Shreveport, Louisiana area. Rick Webb, our Director of Students, says the trip is off to a great start. I put a note from Rick and some pictures at the end of this e-note.
This Sunday, Pastor Adam continues our new sermon series, “Jesus & Me”, which follows the themes of our children’s Vacation Bible Camp. Last week, we heard about Jesus’s interactions with Zacchaeus the tax collector. If you didn’t get a chance to hear it, I encourage you to check it out  Click Here
This week, we’ll gain inspiration and wisdom from the story of Jesus and the ten lepers. This is an awesome series; invite a friend and join us at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, or 5pm this Sunday.
We also have several exciting ministry happenings over the next few months at RezWest. Please take a moment to browse through the ones listed below and join in the fun, learning and fellowship of summer at Resurrection! See you soon.
Blessings,
Chris

High School Student Mission Trip Update – from Rick Webb

The week has started great. The ride down was flawless with no problems. Day 1, all the groups started to mesh very quickly. Some of the projects included: planning programs for the school-aged kids club, picking up garbage, working at the Fuller Center for housing thrift store and construction sites. We spent the whole evening at Twisted Root Burgers which had an amazing patio space. There was live music outside, and we spent three hours having fun as group. The students even welcomed a couple of families into their play time. It was simply wonderful to watch. We ended the night with worship and talked about how each of us define faith/Christianity in a different way. Then, we discussed how James, Jesus’ brother, defined faith in conjunction with works. We also spoke about how the works of changing our behavior can cause a lot of guilt and how we should deal with that guilt. It was a great first day!
