SCRIPTURE: Jesus said "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.--JOHN 8:12
Last year Pastor Dan and Jan Johnson led a tour to the Holy Land. My husband Paul and I were privileged to go along with 36 other pilgrims. As we walked with our guide Mishi leading the way, we all felt the excitement of each new experience. As we took a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee we sang songs and many people gave their testimony. We tried to visualize Jesus walking on the water toward his disciples.
On about the fifth day when we were at the Jordon River, Dan Johnson and Monique McBride dipped water from the Jordon River and making the sign of the Cross on our foreheads reconfirmed our baptism. Two days later when I got my first view of the Old City of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives I was ecstatic. It just made all of the scriptures that I had read over the
years seem so alive. As we walked along the Via Dolorosa following the path that Jesus took to the cross, I heard someone say "I am in love with Jesus". In reflecting on that, I can say that is my sentiments exactly. Following Jesus has been a trip of a lifetime.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who took our sins to the Cross, was crucified, died and was buried, but on the third day He arose from the tomb and ascended into Heaven. Because of His resurrection, we too can have Eternal Life. Thank you, Jesus. AMEN by JoAn Thayer
