SCRIPTURE: Be still and know that I am God. - PSALM 46
Lent is a time of reflection, renewal and reawakening. It is a time to quiet the "noise". I don't just mean environmental noise, but psychic noise, you know, the crazy thoughts that run through your brain all day long - apprehension about the future, regrets about the past, obsession with old hurts and missed opportunities. Ekhart Thole talks about the "Power of the NOW". I take this to mean awareness of every moment, not just the highs and lows of life, but the places in between, the quietness of the now, when God speaks to us, if we only stop long enough to hear. Don't ask questions. He comes to us through us, so He already knows the questions. Quiet your mind, dwell in the place in between, and peace, reassurance and love will be found there.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, grant me the patience and wisdom to quiet my mind and take a moment of respite in the places in between, where silence reigns, and God dwells. AMEN
