Hi, RezChat
I see green outside.
Time to sharpen the mower blades and change the oil.

Sunday's session: Things I believe
Actually, I don't know if Cris Bahadur is leading Sunday's session. All I know is that she's in charge of finding someone to lead it.
Whoever leads it, they'll be launching a 4-week series called "Things I'm supposed to believe: Apostle's Creed."
Here's the look ahead.
•We three gods (Trinity), taught by Cris knows who.
•The walking dead (Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus), by Robert Ladd.
•Us ("I believe in the holy catholic Church" and other stuff, too), by Jim Buffington
•Jesus, the sequel ("He ascended into heaven...), by Cris knows who.
Sunday's session, We three gods, focuses on this statement:
“I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit.”
Links to Bible passages:
Deuteronomy 6:4
John 1:1; 14:11
Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is one.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
Matthew 3:16 Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him. 17 Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
28:19 Go,[a] and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Curriculum team: the year ahead
The curriculum team met at the Bahadur Estate at 10 a.m. last Saturday, to plot out a year's worth of session topics for RezChat. By 3:15 p.m., we wrapped it up.
We enjoyed the donuts, pizza, and Jim's insights into the Holy Spirit.
At this point, I'm working on pulling all the ideas together and working up a draft of the curriculum track.
Once I finish the draft, hopefully in the next week or so, the curriculum team will get a chance to review it and sign up to teach the sessions. Afterward, I'll run the track by the full class so the rest of you can have a chance to sign up to lead some sessions.
The current tract goes through April. We'll start the new track of sessions in May.
We'll begin with two weeks on Noah, since Pastor Adam will be preaching on that topic and a movie about Noah will be released before then.
We'll also have a chance in June to talk about the Bible and some of the ideas Pastor Adam pitches in his new book. So buy it and read ahead. I bought the Kindle version yesterday for $11.
RezChat Passover:
Chag Pesach Sameach
That's Hebrew for "Happy Passover." I hope.
Linda Miller and Renay Kessler will be working up plans for a class Passover meal (called a Seder).
They'll be setting the date soon and getting a head count so they can gather the supplies needed.
I'm looking forward to this.
Have a safe and fun weekend. Try not to break anything important.

Hi, RezChat
I made a mistake. We don't start the Apostle's Creed sessions until March 30.
Sunday Terry Bahadur wraps up our "Why" questions for God by tackling the big one:
Why don't you cure Tim of MS?
Bible passages:
James 5:13-15
2 Corinthians 12:1-10
Luke 22:39-42
James 5:13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. 14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, 15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
2 Corinthians 12:1 It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. For I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I don’t know, or whether out of the body, I don’t know; God knows), such a one caught up into the third heaven. 3 I know such a man (whether in the body, or outside of the body, I don’t know; God knows), 4 how he was caught up into Paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 5 On behalf of such a one I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in my weaknesses. 6 For if I would desire to boast, I will not be foolish; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, so that no man may think more of me than that which he sees in me, or hears from me. 7 By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted excessively, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I should not be exalted excessively. 8 Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
Luke 22:39 He came out, and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him. 40 When he was at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”
41 He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
I'm been working on next year's curriculum track far too long. Clearly my brain is fried.
I quit for today.
Peace out.
Steve
