Trinity United Methodist Church Weekly Newsletter "The Tuesday Word" for Tuesday, 3 June 2014
Friends, words fail me as I reflect back on Sunday's mortgage burning! It was just such an amazing day. Thank you! Thank you, Trinity for making dreams come true, for living into God's dream here on 53rd Avenue so we can live out God's dream around the world and next door. Oh, the places God's love will take us now! If you weren't able to be with us on Sunday, you can see the whole service in its entirety by going to our web site and clicking here. In addition, we are making DVD's for everyone who would like one for posterity. There will be order forms available for the next few Sundays at the information center or at the reception desk during the week.We celebrate with Rev. Aaron Rousseau who will be officially commissioned as a "Provisional Elder" at this year's Florida Annual Conference in Lakeland, and to Ted Nelson who will be ordained as a "Licensed Local Pastor" also, and will begin serving the Micanopy UMC on July 1. Both of these events happen on Friday, June 13 at the Lakeland Convention Center, if any of you would like to drive down or ride down on the Trinity bus to show your support for Aaron and Ted; contact Tammy to make your reservation on the bus.
Also, congratulations to Trinity's Drew Weseman on his appointment to the FUMC of Fernandina Beach, Fl. He will be serving with Rev. Beth Fogle-Miller who will be an outstanding mentor and friend.
If you would like to get to know our summer interns, Amber and Rashad, and our pre-ministry intern, Shane, I know they would love a meal out in a Trinity member's home or a restaurant. Email Julie (for Amber and Rashad) and Tammy for Shane and they'll arrange a time with you. Let's extend to them all a warm, Trinity welcome.
And, how 'bout those Gator Softball women, and their fabulous coach, Tim Walton, who, with his family, is a part of our Trinity family. All the best!
And, looking ahead: The African University Choir will be in concert at the Florida Annual Conference, and then touring in Florida. Trinity has been selected as a host site for the Gainesville area. They will be performing here on Thursday, June 19 at 7:00. Plan to attend and invite your friends. Africa University is one of the great success stories of what United Methodists around the world have done and can do together! For this event we will need housing for 8 women and 8 men on that Thursday night. Please email Tammy if you can host. Thanks so much.
One more thing, Remember our two inspiring worship services in the chapel during the week: Wednesday, 6:35, with Rev. Esther preaching, and the new Friday service at 7:00: "Friday Nite Praise" with Rev. Cliff Patrick preaching and his nephew, Kevin playing piano and maybe his 3 children singing too.
Love and Prayers, Dan

A word from Rev. Esther & Rev. Aaron: What great celebrations are happening around here: the mortgage burning, we concluded another Alpha course, and exciting conversations revolving around worship and missions! Rev. Esther will be preaching at the 6:35 service -- "Justice" Isaiah 58:1-14 . Also, until Thursday she's still collecting supplies for Haiti, so leave them in her office or in the blue BOGO bin. Thanks for all you do, and in all we do let's keep sharing God's grace!
