Take a quick look at our upcoming events/activites below:
Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
What a week for our city! The Chiefs tromp the Patriots on Monday. Royals win the Wildcard on Tuesday. We have our first play off win last night beating the best team in baseball and the weeks not over yet. Up until this week, I’ll have to admit, I couldn’t have named the Royals roster but now I’m digging out the blue gear and planning for the next game.
So you might ask, why should this matter to me now? It matters because this is my tribe. Our whole city is being drawn together around our team and I want to be a part of it. We’ve been given a great reason to come together around tables to cheer and celebrate. As we learned in last week’s sermon, this was a key element in Christ’s ministry. Jesus recognized the power and importance of community drawing together around a common table. He knew and offered to all a place to belong, a team to be a part of.
So in support of our team and our desire to drawn our city further together, you’re all invited to wear your Royal blue on Sunday. We’re going to take a picture of each service and post the one wearing the most blue on facebook to show our support for our team. If you didn’t get a chance to hear Len Sweet’s message last Sunday about bringing back the table, I recommend you go online and listen.
This Sunday Pastor Adam will be back and we will pick up our series on the Apostle Paul and continue with his first missionary journey. We’ll also be sharing holy communion together for World Communion Sunday. I hope you can join us.

Committee Nominations Underway. The following committees are seeking candidates to serve beginning in 2015: Finance, Trustees, Staff Parish Relations, Foundation, Nominations, and Lay Delegates to Annual Conference. You can refer someone you know, or indicate your own interest in serving by completing an Online Interest Form by Sunday, October 19, atcor.org/committees. Most committee members will fill a three-year term, often after serving an additional preparatory year. Please note that you must be a member for at least two years prior to serving in a preparatory role, or three years before serving as a full voting member on a committee. If you have questions about this process, please contact Laura Gregory, our church’s Lay Leader, at nominations@cor.org or 913-345-8331.
Campus Advisory Team. We are seeking persons to serve a three-year term on our Resurrection Blue Springs Campus Advisory Team (CAT). The CAT helps develop the long-range vision of the Resurrection Blue Springs campus. In addition to strategic thinking and planning, members must be willing to raise and take on the questions and concerns for God’s work in our particular community, and be a conduit for communicating the vision and concerns within our community. If you have questions, recommendations, or would like to fill out an interest form, please contact Pastor Penny.
