Beth Immanuel Plugged In

The new Wednesday night Beth Immanuel Plugged In worship service and teaching began Wednesday, January 14. Our first services have been well-attended and plenty of fun. Troy Mitchell and Friends have introduced new worship music. Pastor Lancaster’s all-new teachings Satan in Chains opens new territory in eschatology and kingdom studies. The children are learning the stories of 1 Samuel with a special Bible story from Pastor Lancaster and their own class. FFOZ books and resources are available for sale Wednesday nights.

Shabbat Shirah

Shabbat January 31 is Shabbat Shirah, “The Sabbath of the Song at the Sea” when we hear the Torah portion about the crossing of the sea. Join us at Beth Immanuel to hear the Song at the Sea chanted in Hebrew during our Shabbat liturgical service. This Sabbath will also be the last 1:00 PM Saturday Contemporary Service.

New Saturday Schedule

Shabbat February 7 begins the new Sabbath service schedule:
  • 10:00 AM: Sabbath Service and Torah Reading
  • 11:30 AM: Teaching
  • 12:00 PM: Concluding Prayers
  • 12:30 PM: Fellowship Meal
  • Late Afternoon: Minchah, Third Meal, Havdalah

Update on Marvin Root

Thank you for your prayers for our elder Marvin Root who underwent open heart surgery for bypass and valve replacement during Chanukah this year. He is recovering well and was able to join us for Sabbath services last week.

Tu B'Shevat

The month of Shevat is cold and intemperate in beautiful, historic Hudson, WI, but in the land of Israel, the month of Shevat brings the first blossoming of spring. In the land of Israel, the almond trees bloom around the time of Tu Be’Shevat (i.e. Shevat 15). Tu Be’Shevat, considered the New Year for trees, falls on Wednesday, February 4 this year.
