Dear Friends:
I know you all share with me a profound sadness in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks in Paris. So many of you have asked how you can help the Parisian Jewish community.
The Jewish News of Greater Phoenix is promoting what I believe to be a profoundly important opportunity for world Jewry to directly support our fellow Jews in Paris. By clicking here you will be directed to today's Jewish News' article on the Jewish Agency for Israel's (JAFI) "Emergency Fund to Assist French Jewry." Our donations will go directly to three critical programs/areas JAFI has designated:
- Providing desperately needed security measures for the Jewish community of Paris
- Offering Aliyah services for the thousands seeking to leave France
- Enabling support for French victims of terror
I hope you will join me in fulfilling the sacred Mitzvah of donatingTzedakah in memory of Yohan Cohen, Yoav Hattab, François-Michel Saada and Phillipe Braham along with all those who were murdered last week.
As you may know, Congregation Beth Israel has a longstanding relationship with JAFI. They oversee the employment and training of our summer shlichim (Israeli emissaries) who work on our Camp Daisy and Harry Stein staff each summer.
