Making Plans, Building Dreams

I'm pretty excited about the plans that are coming together for our all-church "If We Build It..." event on Saturday morning the 31st. We have been recruiting an amazing group of volunteers to lead the event--and will have lots of ways for everyone who comes to be involved.
I know that trying to tell you about the event has been a little confusing: we want to be clear that the event is for kids as well as adults, so we've invited you to bring toys. We want you to be well fortified for the work, so we've planned excited breakfast options. We want to be clear that we have concrete hopes, so we're talking about building.
Mostly, though, it's bigger than any of those qualities--it's not just about buildings. Though we'll be playful, it's serious business. It centers around our fellowship and community, but it's more than the food we share. I am so grateful to Nina Dooley, our Church Council Chair, who has brought her deep love of the church and her creative spirit to the work of planning this event.
I hope you will be able to join us for the morning--as we begin next steps in the future God's calling us to. Most of all, I trust and pray you will be a part of what God is doing in this place as you lend your time, talents, gifts, service and witness as a part of our church community.Will you join me as we pray together about what God is calling us to?

We would love for you to RSVP by Thursday if you can come, so we are sure there is enough food--and also if you will need childcare. Childcare will be available in our nursery for kids too young to be a part of the conversation--though we encourage young people to join in as much as they're able! |
