to show mercy each morning." [Lamentations 3:23, Contemporary English Version] for Monday, 26 January 2015
Good Morning, Ministry Partner:
Be Encouraged by God's Word:
We have heard with our ears, O God,
our ancestors have told us,
what deeds you performed in their days,
in the days of old:
you with your own hand drove out the nations,
but them you planted;
you afflicted the peoples,
but them you set free;
for not by their own sword did they win the land,
nor did their own arm give them victory;
but your right hand, and your arm,
and the light of your countenance,
for you delighted in them.[Psalm 44:1-3, NRSV]
Wisdom from Fellow Pilgrims:
Power, no matter how well-intentioned, tends to cause suffering. Love, being vulnerable, absorbs it. In a point of convergence on a hill called Calvary, God renounced the one for the sake of the other.[Philip Yancey]
Pray Together with Us:
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: let the whole earth also worship you, all kingdoms obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and the sons and daughters of men love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.[Eric Milner-White]
