The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown in Kansas City, Missouri, United States Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek - Friday, 27 February 2015.
Greetings RezDowntowners,
I hope this message finds you doing well this Friday morning. I am excited that we are now a little past our first full week into the season of Lent and from the looks and feel of it, we are already off to a great start. On Tuesday, Glory Revival released of their first album of original worship music on iTunes and Amazon. It was so fun to see how quickly this album has caught on. For its first couple of days on iTunes it has remained on the top of the charts. At one point it was as high as #5 on iTunes, which is an awesome confirmation of the work that God is doing through worship here at RezDowntown amongst all of our volunteers. If you would like to listen or purchase this album feel free to visit www.gloryrevivalmusic.com.
On Wednesday, we had a great turnout at our first week of our Lenten Journey Through the Holy Land study. All throughout Lent we’ll be meeting to draw nearer to God in study by visiting the Holy Sites following the chronological account of Jesus’ life, death, and Resurrection. Feel free to invite friends and join us this next Wednesday night at 7:00pm.
This weekend we’ll have other opportunities to connect as well. On Saturday morning Pastor Anne will be leading a class on Spiritual Gifts. If you’re wondering where God might be calling you to serve or wonder what you should be doing, this would be a great opportunity to deepen in understanding your gifts. The Boomers are meeting as well and then of course you can worship with us on Saturday and Sunday as we continue our trend of live preaching downtown! Last weekend Pastor Todd did a great job casting vision surrounding our mission to be with our neighbors, making friends out of strangers. This weekend, I’ll be focusing our attention not on March madness, but March mountaintops. I hope you’ll join us.
In the meantime, here are some other ways to get connected to the life of this church over the next few weeks;
