Resurrection West,
It’s been an incredible week of ministry throughout our congregation and this Sunday we continue in the Generations series. We will take a deeper look at the story of Joshua, the parable of the wise and foolish builder, and hear testimonies from families in our congregation. Last week's sermon video is now posted on our home page, and then archived on my campus pastor page here rezwest.org/about/campus-pastor. It will be a great day of worship! In regards to inclement weather - any ministry cancellations are posted on the home page of our web-site at rezwest.org. We always have worship services regardless of inclement weather.
We will be introducing our new Director of Student Ministries - Rick Webb, this Sunday in all worship services. Here is a picture of Rick and his family.

Rick and his wife Becky and their two children Carson (4 years) and Addi (1 year) are relocating from Ankeny, Iowa where Rick has served as the Youth Pastor at Ankeny United Methodist Church for the past nine years. Becky is a kindergarten teacher and they love spending time outdoors, camping, and hunting. Rick excels in the areas of volunteer recruitment, new ministry initiative, relational ministry with students and equipping families. He has a heart for mission and helping teens experience the joy in serving. We look forward to welcoming Rick’s family at the end of the semester as Becky finishes her school year teaching before the family transitions.

Resurrection West Baby Photo Shoot • Saturday, March 7, 9:30-10:30 am Join us as we celebrate the many babies who have been born since Resurrection West Phase I was completed. All In Men’s Retreat – “All in (ol әn) adjective: wagering one’s entire stake. “
Kirby is all in. Folmsbee is all in. Gant is all in. Are you all in? Each spring the men of The Church of the Resurrection gather for a time of spiritual encouragement, friendship, worship and renewal. This year’s retreat is about being “All In.” Together we will explore what a deeply committed Christian life means and how we can grow towards that purpose and goal. Speakers include Jeff Kirby (Leawood Pastor of Discipleship and Men’s Ministry), Chris Folmsbee (Leawood Director of Adult Discipleship) and Jason Gant, our own campus pastor, along with special guest, Ron Smith. The Retreat is Friday, March 6, 6:30-9 pm (dinner included), and Saturday, March 7, 8:30 am – noon (breakfast included), at the Leawood Campus Student Center. Suggested donation of $30 will be accepted via cash, check or charge at the door. Register at cor.org/men.
Spring Break Family Campout & FaithWork Day – March 20-21 Join your friends at Resurrection West for an overnight campout on the church grounds, or just come for Friday evening’s movie in the Sanctuary, The Lorax, and s’mores around the campfire. The overnight campout will be followed by the March FaithWork eventon Saturday morning, March 21, with many family-friendly projects on the church grounds and prayer trail. All activities will be moved indoors if necessary due to weather. Register now at rezwest.org/campout
New Alpha Prayer Course Coming in March – Looking for a fresh perspective on prayer and how to do it? Journey with us through the Lord’s Prayer in this 6-week course. Sessions begin with a meal, followed by a short talk and time to discuss what has been taught. Alpha Prayer begins Monday, March 30, 6:30 pm. Childcare is available with registration. Easter is quickly approaching and we will celebrate the Risen Christ through a colorful abundance of flowers in our Sanctuary at Easter worship services. If you are interested in making a donation toward flowers in memory or honor of a loved one, green donation envelopes are available on the front entry table. Please complete the information and return the envelope to the reception desk by Sunday, March 1st. This week take a look at our new web-site to share design plans, statistics, and testimonies about our upcoming Branching Out: Making Room for All building campaign at branchingout.rezwest.org. Shawn Simpson, Director of Technical Arts and Operations, writes a great post about the upcoming plans. We will be adding new posts each week as we move closer to the campaign following Easter!
Finally, this Sunday will be the groundbreaking at our Leawood campus for their building expansion – As one church in many locations, we celebrate with our Leawood Campus as they break ground for their new sanctuary! We invite you to prayerfully remember them on this exciting weekend, as surely it will call to mind our own groundbreaking that will take place later this year.
