---------------------For the people of Israel, the temple was the sign of God's presence among them. It was their refuge from the wicked and their enemies. It was their reminder that God loved them. The psalmist confidently proclaims that God is steadfast in loving them and pleads with God to keep it up!
Signs of God's steadfast love are all around us--in people who care about us, in places that give us refuge and strength, in experiences that remind us that we are not alone. With the psalmist we can also proclaim that God loves us, and at the same time plead with God to continue to show us love. What are the signs of God's presence and love in your life?
Thank you for your steadfast love, even when I don't deserve it. As life continues all around me, show me your love even more, so that I will know that you are holding me in your hand. Amen.
