The Deaf Devo from The Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States "Proverbs (4)" Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:1-8 for Saturday, 5 November 2016
Proverbs 3:1 My son, don’t forget my teaching,
keep my commands in your heart;
2 for they will add to you many days,
years of life and peace.
3 Do not let grace and truth leave you —
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and esteem
in the sight of God and of people.
5 Trust in Adonai with all your heart;
do not rely on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him;
then he will level your paths.
7 Don’t be conceited about your own wisdom;
but fear Adonai, and turn from evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
and give strength to your bones.

When we read and study the Bible, we should keep God's words and commands in our hearts. Then when we are tempted to do wrong, we can use God's words to help us stand strong and resist temptation.
In our Bible Reading for today, Solomon tells his son to remember what he has taught him. "What I teach will give you a good, long life, and all will go well for you"(verse 2). In the same way, we should always remember what we have learned from the Bible.
Verses 5 and 6 are very important for us to learn and remember. "Trust the Lord completely, and don't depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way." When we are tempted or we face difficult situations, we are not alone. We can trust and depend on God!
God's words and commands will guide you today and show you what is right.[BR]
