11 Moshe said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and lead the people of Isra’el out of Egypt?” 12 He replied, “I will surely be with you. Your sign that I have sent you will be that when you have led the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
13 Moshe said to God, “Look, when I appear before the people of Isra’el and say to them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you’; and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what am I to tell them?” 14 God said to Moshe, “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh [I am/will be what I am/will be],” and added, “Here is what to say to the people of Isra’el: ‘Ehyeh [I Am or I Will Be] has sent me to you.’” 15 God said further to Moshe, “Say this to the people of Isra’el: ‘Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh [Adonai], the God of your fathers, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitz’chak and the God of Ya‘akov, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever; this is how I am to be remembered generation after generation.

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” He said further, “Thus you shall say to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”[Exodus 3:14 (NRSV)]
A dear family member recently suffered an infirmity that left her practically incapacitated. Friends and family members flooded her with questions about the hows and whats of her condition. After wrestling with how to relate the complex medical information, she finally resolved to say, “It is what it is.”
In the midst of life’s challenges, we sometimes wrestle with the hows and whats of a solution. We can be confident of God, that God is who God is. God is the “I AM,” who is present when we need God to be with us in our present circumstance.
Whether we need a counselor, a comforter, a guide, or provider, God addresses us: “I AM who I AM.” Even though we may not be aware that the Lord is present at the time, we can rest assured that God is actively working in our present situation.

Thought for the Day: I will trust God to be present in my circumstances.
Prayer: Dear God, we praise you for being ever-present, trusting you to be with us in all circumstances. We pray as Jesus taught us, saying, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6:9-13, NIV). Amen.
Prayer focus: MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS
