On Sunday during our second service, we received the report about the church shooting that took place in Texas. Instantly my heart broke for the families affected by this shooting. Even now as I write this piece, my heart is heavy. These were our brothers and sister in Christ. I want to encourage you to pray for everyone affected by this shooting. Pray for God’s comfort and peace to be present.
In the midst of this tragedy and this sadness, I cling to hope. I would encourage you to cling to hope as well. One day there will be no more suffering, pain or death. Revelation 21:1-4 says this, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
I praise God for the hope that we have in Jesus. The world is full of trouble and pain, however in the midst of this we have hope! We long for the day where there will be no more tears, pain, suffering or death but until that day comes, let’s all cling to this hope!
While you are praying for those affected by this situation this week, I would also encourage you to thank God for the hope that we have!
I hope you have a great week.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Don’t forget to remember that tomorrow, Wednesday 11/8 from 3-7 PM the mobile van/truck people with all of the items you will need to fill the Operation Christmas Child boxes will be on our back patio. Bring the kids, grandparents or neighbors to Gateway to have a fun time of shopping; all in one place and all of the “right” stuff. Everything is almost free so don’t be left behind to fend for yourself.
Good Shopping and God Bless Your Gift!
Just a note: I have it on good authority that the Field of Honor at the Murrieta Town Square is quite something to see with many flags now thru this Veterans Day weekend. Might be worth the effort especially if you have been telling the kids or grandchildren how special the USA really is…right?
