Ash Wednesday Experiential Service FEBRUARY 18th, 6:30pm-8:00pm On February 18th, we will hold our Ash Wednesdayservice here at the church. This service will begin with a time of singing together and music before we are asked to take time to reflect at prayer stations around the sanctuary. This is a quiet, confessional service lit by candles with plenty of time for quiet meditation. If you’ve never been to one of our evening services, this would be a great one to experience! Also, we will again be partnering with Genesis Church, a sister church of ours based in North Park. An event from Normal Heights Community Association: MID-CITY UNLEASHED rally for our off-leash dog park FEBRUARY 15th, noon-2:00pm Did you know a 24,000 square foot Off-Leash Dog Park and a Community Garden in Normal Heights were approved by the city of San Diego 10 years ago, and are still waiting on funding to proceed? Show the city that you want the next phase of this project to be included in the next fiscal budget by joining us for this dog-friendly block party. There will be live music with Gabriela Aparicio, Todd Gloria will speak at 12:30, Adopt a Pet opportunities, and doggie and human treats and giveaways. Click here or go to normalheights.ca for more information! 5-Week Class on Christian Practices FEBRUARY 26th - March 26th Thursdays, 6:30pm-8:00pm During the season of Lent, we will be offering a 5-week class on Thursday nights to help you learn about the ways of Christian change during these 40 days. This year, we will be focusing on 5 practices, events or things that the church has historically done in order to be formed as disciples… some of which may surprise you! We’ll be watching a video series called “Animate” which combines great information with excellent discussion questions and conversation starters. We will also have childcare available for kids 4 and under, AND a kids component where they, too, will learn about what we are covering. We are really excited about this program and what it offers to the whole worship community! Pancake Breakfast FEBRUARY 8th, 8:30am-9:45am Join us every Second Sunday for a free pancake breakfast! Start your Sundaystress-free, by letting us feed your family.Come to serve, talk or just eat! Feel free to stick around and check out our SundaySchool & Worship Service afterwards. If you’d like to help out with these breakfasts during any month, just email Nancy at nancy@nhunited.org! Toddler Playgroup TUESDAYS 10:00am-11:30am Meet neighbors with your little one! All toddlers, 1-2 years are welcome to come and play in the playroom. No agenda, just an enclosed space to let your toddler do their thing with others and different toys. You get to talk with other adults and get out of the house! Also, if you have an infant in tow, there’s lots of eyes and hands around to help you out! You’re not alone during this busy stage of your life! Preschool Learn and Play FRIDAYS 10:00am-11:30pm We are a group of preschoolers ages 2-4 (give or take) who play, eat, and learn together with a loved one (mom, dad, nanny, grandparent, etc.) Every week there will be a theme, which a story, snack, song, and craft will work together to learn more about that topic. We start and end with a little free-play and hangout time. Younger siblings are welcome but know this is geared for older children.  Faith on Tap @ East County FEBRUARY 12th, 6:30pm-8:00pm Join us on 2nd Thursdays in East County to hang out in a local backyard, where we participate in casual theological discussions over a pint of local beers and munchies. Check out what's happening on Sundays: 9:45-10:30 All Church Sunday School Babies & Toddlers: Nursery Room across from Church Office Preschool-Kindergarten: Preschool “Blue” Room through the Church Kitchen 1st-6th Grade: Room 205 Upstairs Adults: Room 208 upstairs   10:30-11:30 Worship Service  Adults and children of all ages gather in the sanctuary for a time of worship that is about praising God, but also about helping each other to see the sacred in the ordinary parts of life the rest of the week.
