Since I know you have a heart for reaching Jewish people with the message of the Messiah, I am thrilled to tell you about the great strides and milestones our ministry made this summer with thousands of unsaved Jewish people. Did you know that one of the most open groups to the gospel right now is young people? Furthermore, there is an ever-growing population of young Israelis immigrating to Berlin. We felt burdened to reach these young people as they arrived in Berlin. This summer, the Lord made it possible to build a new team to open our Berlin branch. The gospel is already reaching those there who need it most. I am so encouraged with this progress and opportunity. To me, that was more than enough to celebrate, but God had bigger plans! We also celebrated 25 years of ministering in Odessa. Our Odessa Jubilee Campaign was a huge success for the Lord! Not only did a sold-out crowd hear the gospel, over 1,200 unsaved Jewish people gave us their contact information. Our missionaries now have the opportunity to reach out to each one—in the hope of fostering a relationship for the sake of the Messiah. But with these incredible opportunities and milestones came a great challenge. Due to the increase of ministry over the summer, and the decrease in summer giving, we now face a projected $300,000 budget shortfall. But, Gary, as you know, the ministry of reaching Jewish people with the message of Christ must go on! We have incredible ministry opportunities before us that we want to accomplish but we need your help to do so. In fact, we have a very specific $50,000 goal we need to reach by September 30 in order to achieve and complete these ministry opportunities.
