The L'Arche Canada Foundation in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada with Jean Vanier's Daily Thoughts for Friday, 16 September 2016 "Rebirth"
I am personally helped a lot by seeing, in people with disabilities, the light come into their eyes and a smile to their lips as they gradually come out of anguish and spiritual death - by seeing life rising in them. The rebirth of a human being makes all the weight of daily life in community worthwhile.[Jean Vanier, Community and Growth, page 183]

JEAN VANIER'S Daily thought
"Communion and Mutuality"
Communion is mutual trust, mutual belonging; it is the to-and-fro movement of love between two people where each one gives and each one receives. Communion is not a fixed state, it is an ever-growing and deepening reality that can turn sour if one person tries to possess the other, thus preventing growth. Community is mutual vulnerability and openness one to the other. It is liberation for both, indeed, where both are allowed to be themselves, where both are called to grow in greater freedom and openness to others and to the universe.[Jean Vanier]-------
