Romans 1:1 From: Sha’ul, a slave of the Messiah Yeshua, an emissary because I was called and set apart for the Good News of God.
2 God promised this Good News in advance through his prophets in the Tanakh. 3 It concerns his Son — he is descended from David physically; 4 he was powerfully demonstrated to be Son of God spiritually, set apart by his having been resurrected from the dead; he is Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord.
-------
In our Bible verses today, Paul said that his work was to tell the Good News. "The Good News is about God's Son, Jesus Christ our Lord" (verse 3).
As Christians, our job is to tell the Good News, too. But where should we go to tell the Good News about Jesus? Look at the word "NEWS." The "N" could stand for North, the "E" for East, the "W" for West and the "S" for South. We should go everywhere - in all directions - to tell other people about Jesus and His wonderful plan of salvation.
Maybe you can go to neighbors who live close to you. Maybe you can go to another town. Or maybe you can go on a mission trip to another country. Wherever you go, you can share about Jesus.
When Jesus was ready to leave the earth and return to heaven, He told His disciples, "So go and make followers of all people in the world" (Matthew 28:19a) That command is for you, too. Where will you share about Jesus today?[ST*]
"God promised long ago through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures
to give this Good News to his people."[Romans 1:2]
PRAYER: Dear God, I want to tell people the Good News about Jesus today. In His name. Amen.

Hebrews 12:1 So then, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us, too, put aside every impediment — that is, the sin which easily hampers our forward movement — and keep running with endurance in the contest set before us, 2 looking away to the Initiator and Completer of that trusting,[Hebrews 12:2 Habakkuk 2:4] Yeshua — who, in exchange for obtaining the joy set before him, endured execution on a stake as a criminal, scorning the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.[Hebrews 12:2 Psalm 110:1] 3 Yes, think about him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you won’t grow tired or become despondent.
-------
Last night I remembered that my husband had recently bought some ice cream. I looked in the freezer, but I could not find the ice cream. I was puzzled, but I kept on looking. Finally I found the ice cream - in the refrigerator! So I had a bowl of very soft ice cream!
Sometimes we are distracted in our everyday life. Then we may forget to do things or we may put things in the wrong place. But it is really bad when we become distracted in our spiritual life. Our Bible verses compare life to a race. If a runner becomes distracted and wanders off the course, he will not win the race. In the same way, if we become distracted from following Jesus, we become spiritually weak. Then it is easier to give in to the devil's temptations.
It is important for you to focus on your family and your job today. But it is even more important for you to keep focused on Jesus. Don't let the distractions of the world stop you from following Him.[JK]
"We must never stop looking to Jesus. He is the leader of our faith, and he is the one who makes our faith complete."[Hebrews 12:2a]
PRAYER: Father, help me to keep my life focused on Jesus today. In His name. Amen.
