Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) is pleased to celebrate the vast gifts, passion, and hard work offered to the movement through the work of Dr. Ted Jackson and Nelson Mendoza. The departure of these two staff members will be a loss for the RMN team, but we are excited about what lies ahead for each of them.
Dr. Ted Jackson, Director of Finance and Administration, has been working at RMN in a variety of capacities since 2011. He has functioned as a steady, thoughtful, and brilliant presence on the RMN team and his work on operations, human resources, our database and more has been a bedrock of RMN’s services to the movement. Ted is looking forward to putting his degrees in German to use at his new job at Multilingual Connections, a small woman-owned translation company in Evanston, IL. Ted’s last day will be June 2nd.
Ted shares, “I’m so grateful for all the kind Reconciling United Methodists I’ve gotten to know and worked with over the last six years. It was especially wonderful to meet many of you at Convocations in Ohio, DC, and Texas as well as General Conference in Tampa. I’m also thankful for those whom I only knew through donations. It’s been an honor to serve RMN behind the scenes to help make your good work of changing the church possible and to show the world that we know how this story ends! ”
Nelson Mendoza has been serving as Communications Associate at RMN since April of 2016. Nelson has been an incredible asset, contributing to the coverage of General Conference 2016, Annual Conference Season of 2016, the election of Bishop Karen Oliveto, Judicial Council rulings, and many other everyday communication needs for the movement. His bright and creativity personality will be deeply missed but we celebrate his call to ministry in the Episcopal Church as he leaves RMN to fully engage seminary life at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas starting this fall. Nelson will continue serving as Communications Associate through July 28th.
“My time with RMN has been life-changing and life-giving. The beautiful and sometimes heartbreaking work that I’ve seen transpire within the Reconciling Movement has truly inspired me to find ways to bring that energy into my ministry as I move forward in my spiritual journey. I am deeply grateful to RMN for this opportunity I’ve had to grow as a professional, a future clergy person, and a human seeking to do justice work,” Nelson explained.
Reconciling Ministries gives thanks for these two and all they have contributed to the work of justice and inclusion in The United Methodist Church. We wish God’s blessing on their work ahead and we look forward to inviting new team members into the fold.
If you would like to offer a gift of thanks for their passion and contributions to the movement, please consider making a donation in their honor to RMN here.
