Since its founding in 2004, the Lewis Center has had only one Director, Dr. Lovett H. Weems, Jr. Under his fruitful direction, the Center has become the trusted resource for church leadership ideas, research, resources, and training so that congregations and denominations thrive, grow, and serve God and their communities. On July 1, Dr. Weems will transition into a new position as senior consultant for the Lewis Center. In his new role, he will continue to teach, write, and consult with denominational leaders. Dr. F. Douglas Powe, Jr., will then become the new Director. In celebrating Dr. Weems's transition and his contribution to church leadership, Wesley Theological Seminary and the Lewis Center have started the Lovett H. Weems, Jr., Scholarship for Leadership Education. With a generous $250,000 matching gift challenge, we believe we can raise a $1 million pool of scholarships for leadership education through the Lewis Center. Will you help us meet this challenge? Please donate today to the Lovett H. Weems, Jr., Scholarship for Leadership Education to honor and continue Dr. Weems's extraordinary contribution to scholarship in church leadership. From all of us at the Lewis Center, thank you. |
