Hi RezDowntowners,
I hope this Friday morning message finds you doing well. It has been an active week in the church as our construction crews have begun the excavation work on our water detention system. We've watched the digging get underway - it has begun to look like an actual construction site! All of this activity has given our staff team reason to be mindful and to pray daily for the many different ways that God will use our church for generations to come, transforming hearts and changing lives. My hope is that you might be willing to offer a prayer over our new property whenever you walk or drive past as well. Either way, I am excited that as you arrive at church this weekend, you will be able to see progress!
This weekend, we'll continue our focus on The Birds and The Bees by zeroing in on 'The Talk.' Pastor Adam has taken some time to ask people from our congregation to share their experience of both giving and hearing the talk. What we often find is that having this talk can be quite challenging. Join us as we consider how to discuss topics like relationships, intimacy and so much more. It is Mother's Day Weekend, so we will also take time to celebrate all of the female influences and mother-figures who have changed us or made us who we are today. To that end, we will share a special gift with every woman in attendance this weekend to celebrate your lives and impact throughout this city!In the meantime, you'll find a variety of ways below to get connected over the next several weeks, including two opportunities tomorrow (a Women's Breakfast at 9 am and a Special Service Opportunity at Grand Avenue Temple!). Be sure to take a look...
Many blessings and God's Peace,
Scott

- Women’s Breakfast Series - Join our ladies group tomorrow, 9 am at 1522 McGee as they gather for a time of fun, food and fellowship. They will hear from Shannon Endicott, Worship Logistics & Events Program Director at RezDT. Bring a friend, and bring a breakfast dish to share. Or just come – there is always plenty to eat! For more information, contact Pam at pamelacurry@me.com or Bobbie at bobbielcrew@outlook.com.
- Special Ministry Project – Join us tomorrow to help Lazarus Ministries move from their Grand Avenue Temple location to their new location at Olive and Linwood Blvd. The move will offer Lazarus Ministries the opportunity to evolve their mission in community with new neighbors, while still using their gifts to help people live more satisfied lives. We’ll begin at 9 am at Grand Avenue Temple and continue until the work is done. Sign up for this volunteer opportunity at cor.org/downtown/serve or RSVP via the RezDT missions Facebook event.
- Boundaries in Relationships – Explore how to maintain healthy boundaries by asking questions about when to compromise, when to stand your ground and how to manage the give-and-take of relationships so that we stay true to ourselves, while also loving sacrificially. Join us Wednesday, May 17, 6:30 pm at 1508 Grand for a session led by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Justin Bastin. Contact Matt Bisel at matt.bisel@cor.org with questions. Please register at cor.org/downtown/getconnected.
- RezMoms – Join the RezMoms Saturday, May 20 at 9 am for their last "meeting" of the year at Cafe Europa for brunch! Please RSVP to Kristen Sayers at klynsayers@gmail.com.
- Vacation Bible Camp – Volunteers Needed! Check out the dates and details for VBC at cor.org/downtown/vbc as you start to think about your summer plans. There will be a short informational meeting Sunday, May 14, right after the 10:45 am service. We will meet in KiDSCOR, starting around 12:30 pm. Contact Sarah Brischle at sarah.brischle@cor.org with questions. If you are interested in helping but unable to attend the meeting, be sure to let her know! Come learn about what we are doing!
Many blessings and God's Peace,
Scott
