Dear Congregation,
This Sunday we will be recognizing our graduates in the 11:00 service, and Pastor Phil will be bringing the message: I Called, You Answered; from Psalm 138 in both services. We look forward to worshiping with you!
New Sunday School elective starting this Sunday:
Hearing God by Dallas Willard
How do we hear God's voice? How can we be sure that what we think we hear is not our own subconscious? What role does the Bible play? What if what God says to us is not clear? The key, says best-selling author Dallas Willard, is to focus not so much on individual actions and decisions as on building our personal relationship with our Creator. Each week we will listen in as John Ortberg and Richard Foster dialogue with Dallas Willard on the themes of his beloved classic book, Hearing God, and discuss as a group. You do not need a copy of the book or even need to read it during this 6-week class (but I hope you will want to when we are done).
The Pillowcase Project
An additional group sewing day has been scheduled for this Wednesday, June 13 from 4:30-7 in the mini-hall. Please RSVP to me, or sign up on the counter at church. (a meal will not be provided, so feel free to bring something with you if you would like!). The days that were originally scheduled (June 26 and July 8) are still on! And, with very rough calculations, I think we must be closing in on 100 pillowcases! Thanks so much to everyone for their dedication!
Contact Kendra Seaver with any questions or if you would like pillowcase kits to sew together! klc_44@yahoo.com or 607.759.6181
Women’s Ministry:
As women of God, some of our prayer requests are unique. A new time of Women's Prayer is starting on June 18th at 7pm in the Lounge. We will meet once a month to pray together as sisters in Christ. All women are welcomed, and feel free to bring your daughters, sisters and friends.
A big THANK YOU to our church family for the tremendous response to our Soap for Hope project. Last Sunday the product was collected and sorted and then delivered on Monday.
Tioga County Rural Ministries was so amazed and very thankful....there was approximately 240 items and a total of 172 lbs. How awesome is that!! Just another way we show the love of Jesus to our community!!! Again, a big thank you from the Compassionate Care Team.
