Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs!
This is an amazing time of celebration in the life of our church! We have not one, but two Grand Openings this week! Resurrection Downtown will open the first new church building in downtown Kansas City in over 80 years and Leawood will be celebrating the opening of the new Foundry Hall, kitchen, Matthew's Ministry area, cafe, children's play area, classrooms and Commons (these occupy the former sanctuary and entrance areas). It is an exciting time for our church.
You’ll be seeing a small addition to our campus soon as well. We have a team working on putting in a new toddler’s playground. We were offered the opportunity to utilize the fencing and temporary playground equipment Leawood used during construction of their new buildings. We will be constructing a fenced area for our younger children to play in the backyard. We’re hoping to have it completed by the end of June and ready to use for some of our summer activities.
Though it’s not official yet, I’d say that summer is upon us. This Sunday in worship you’ll receive information about all the activities we have planned this summer to connect, serve and grow. We’ll also be starting a new sermon series called Jesus & Me. We will be exploring the same great gospel stories our children will learn about this year in Vacation Bible Camp. We will focus on Jesus, the people he loved, and what it means for us to follow him. By the time we get to the end of our series, our children will be starting VBC. This will offer a great opportunity to talk together about what we are learning. Don’t miss out!
I look forward to seeing you this week as we engage with the familiar story of Zacchaeus, someone rich, lost and searching. Invite a friend to join us!

VBC is a week of fun, friendship and faith-building designed to help kids and families choose kind…just like Jesus! We are offering evening times the first two days to increase family involvement with a fun movie night, then morning times on the weekend to help with those busy schedules! The last day we will end our time during church and celebrate with a family picnic and water slide after church. Everyone is welcome!
Adult Volunteers
We have spots for people with varying interests including behind the scenes, decorating, greeting, group guides, recreation, craft, acting, music and missions. All are important!
