Dear Hate. A love letter.
WELL DOGGONE, this is my third and last attempt to write this.These days, Christians can’t write about hatefulness and lies without sounding political.
That’s because hatefulness and lies are so much on display these days.
Instead of saying what I want to say…and do say face to face to fellow Christians I know well, let me let some Bible writers remind us:
- hate and lies will lose,
- and those who embrace them or enable them will lose as well.
the Lord doesn’t like:
Those who are too proud
or tell lies…” (Proverbs 6:16-17 CEV).
“God can’t stomach liars” (Proverbs 12:22 MSG).
“What you’ve got in your heart comes out of your mouth in the words you speak” (Luke 6:45 Casual English Bible).
A letter to hateI’ve linked this song before. But I’ll link it again. I think of the lyrics whenever hatefulness becomes the lead story of the day.
