SCRIPTURE: The angel said, Don’t be afraid.  I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide.(LUKE 2:10)

The story began in wonder…

Who was it who delivered the message

To an unsuspecting young woman?

Yes, you recall, it was a being of wonder –

An Angel

The words were a mixture

Prompting a wonder of surprise

And a wonder akin to

How can this be?

And to me?

The other wonder is the acceptance

Of the life changing message

By the unlikely but perfectly suited one,

So humble, so willing

To be blessed.

It simply never happened before

In all of history

And yet, the wonder is

It changed all things –

His story.

Born in wonder

Growing in amazing ways

To reveal how a life

Could have such a connection

To wonder.

Not only their story

But ours?

Once again, we being different

And the same

Say, how can this be?

The wonder of it all

Is our life made different

By One Who also listened

Beyond explanation

To wonder.

Showing the way

Each person can be given

The long ago message,

Each allowed to live

With wonder.

PRAYER: Dear Messenger, help me to listen and live in wonder. AMEN.
