Handfuls of seed...
Often when we read the Parable of the Sower, we ask the question, "Which soil am I?" or "How can I become good soil?" These are great questions, and important to consider! However, this Sunday we're going in somewhat of a different direction.
This week, we will instead look more closely at the role of the sower, the extravagance, and even ridiculousness of how the sower sows seed. You can probably imagine the sower, carrying a small satchel, and taking handful after handful of seed, only to hurtle it in every direction as he walks. No wonder the seed lands on all types of soil! Why would a sower do something like that? Would you?
We will learn that we are designed by Jesus to be more like the sower: less inhibited by potential failure, and living instead into the hope and abundance of God's grace, offered freely to all! The incredible way that God has designed us allows for the ridiculous, the unexpected, even the most broken of places, to be possible sites for good soil and a miraculous harvest. As we gather together for worship and growth in our own discipleship, we will seek to learn more about who God calls and creates us to be. I hope you will join us this Sunday!
Blessings,
Jessica

A typical Sunday at the Water's Edge
These days food seems to appear from nowhere, not just on potluck Sundays. Instead of leaving right away, many want to stay a little longer after our service; have a second cup of coffee, to talk and get to know each other better... See for yourself!

W.E. Can Your donations are more important than ever...

One of the goals for the Water's Edge congregation this year is to support our First Church Food Ministry: Loaves and Fishes. Besides canned food items, milk, eggs, and bread are always welcome. You may leave your donations in The Cove, or in Linder Hall.
Thanks for your help!
