Dear Friends,
The following 13 persons joined Trinity this past Sunday:
Daryl Buss, Sharon Buss, Alan Fehlner, Amy Fehlner, Theresa Gyllstrom, Samantha Hart , Ken Kalis, Tamara Lunardo, Rev. Clifford Patrick, Rosa Patrick, Casey Perry, Anne Rush and Jake Rush. If you know any of them, please extend a warm welcome and help them deepen their connection to our Church family.
During the month of February, Aaron, Esther and I are focusing our sermons on Evangelism, sharing our experiences of God's love and grace, inviting people to belong to a loving community of Faith, of becoming a follower of our Friend, Mentor, Savior and Lord. Someone did that for you and for me, either directly or indirectly. Let's not forget how different our life would be had this not happened! So, let's not withhold this sharing from others! I'm asking God for at least 20 new persons each month to experience the joy of becoming a part of His family called Trinity. Will you join me in this prayer? And the second part of that prayer is that God will somehow use me/you to encourage someone along that journey to faith and belonging. And, by the way, Alpha (our short, introductory course into Christianity) begins at Trinity on Wednesday, March 12, so be watching for more details. This is an especially wonderful way of introducing people to the Christian faith in a welcoming, non-threatening way.
This Sunday, at 3:00, Trinity is sponsoring a prayer walk for the House of Hope (both men's and women's houses). We will begin at the chapel and walk through our campus. Please join us; our support for this ministry is vitally important.
The Order of St. Luke Healing Ministry is starting a new set of training sessions, designed to help you become a more informed and more intentional participant in the healing ministry. Trinity's Order of St. Luke's "Healing Ministry of Jesus" - classes for vibrant ministry will be starting soon to promote and practice the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Contact Pat Kilby or Lynwood Walters to register or for more information. Starting Sundays in March in Trinity Chapel. Brochures in Trinity Chapel or more information here.
I had lunch last week with Rev. Marvin Celso, a United Methodist Minister from the Philippines. After pastoring there for 18 years, he and his wife and child moved here so his wife could be a nurse at Shands. Marvin and I are excited to announce that he will begin a new Bible Study (Life Changing Gathering). It begins, Wednesday, March 12 in one of the rooms in our Education Building. It is designed to reach primarily other Filipino persons in our community, but all are welcome. Please help us get the word out about this, especially to our Filipino brothers
and sisters.
As a part of the "Trinity Lecture Series," on Wednesday, February 26, at 7:00, Dr. Tracy Reid, Professor at the UF College of Law, will present a talk on: "The Death Penalty, Faith, Facts and Fallacies." This is sponsored by our Center on Faith and Knowledge, and all are welcomed to attend. Room 232, Education Building.
God is doing some wonderful things among us! We are very grateful.
God bless, Dan

Week-end Worship
Sunday Service
Worship Center 8:15, 9:40 & 11:00 Rev. Aaron Rousseau
Sermon Title: Belonging: From Grace To Grace
Text - Ephesians 2:7-10 Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. (MSG)

6:35 WORSHIP SERVICE
Please join us for The 6:35 Worship Service tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12 at 6:35 in the Chapel with Rev. Aaron Rousseau. Sermon Title - Belonging: Beyond The Comfort Zone, Text - Genesis 11:“God Turned Their Language into ‘Babble’”
1-2 At one time, the whole Earth spoke the same language. It so happened that as they moved out of the east, they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled down.
3 They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks and fire them well.” They used brick for stone and tar for mortar.
4 Then they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower that reaches Heaven. Let’s make ourselves famous so we won’t be scattered here and there across the Earth.”
5 God came down to look over the city and the tower those people had built.
6-9 God took one look and said, “One people, one language; why, this is only a first step. No telling what they’ll come up with next—they’ll stop at nothing! Come, we’ll go down and garble their speech so they won’t understand each other.” Then God scattered them from there all over the world. And they had to quit building the city. That’s how it came to be called Babel, because there God turned their language into “babble.” From there God scattered them all over the world. (MSG)

It is a marvelous program that takes books into the Lowell Correctional Institution for Women in Ocala FL so moms can record them for their children. Four times a year, this group of women travels to the prison, armed with books, MP3 players, and a loving spirit. Once there, about 30 moms will have the opportunity to choose a book to read and record for
their child. The book and MP3 player are put in mailers and dropped at the Post Office on the way home! Aside from becoming involved in the program, the best way to help support this effort is by donating new paperback books for children from preschool through middle school. Of course, financial contributions are always appreciated! Each trip costs approximately $800. For more information please contact Beth Haines or call 352-373-9469.
