On World Malaria Day, or any other day, if you said a prayer, donated a dollar or "covered the 'Net" to raise awareness of this killer disease ... we thank you. By spreading the word that there has been progress and there is hope, the chances multiply that deaths from malaria will be eliminated sooner rather than later. If you haven't participated in our #CoverTheNet social media campaign to promote awareness of World Malaria Day, April 25, it's not too late.
You can help spread the word with just a few clicks at Twibbon and Thunderclap (ends April 25, 1 p.m. EDT).
We wish we could thank you in ways beyond words. Instead of virtual thanks, we would send you buckets of joyful tears cried by pregnant mothers. We would send you letters from children in classrooms – kids who might otherwise not have lived long enough to go to school. We would show you the mountain of insecticide-treated nets – provided through your gifts – that protect families as they sleep.
Not only would we offer gratitude for saving lives; we also would celebrate how Imagine No Malaria is changing the lives of supporters. Our churches have come alive with ways to become involved. Children in Sunday school have led by giving their pennies and raising tens of thousands of dollars more. Local congregations have opened their eyes to a world beyond the one in which they live. United Methodists have joined across communities and countries to work toward a common purpose. We have put words into action and actions into healing.
When we say, "Thank you for everything you've done and will continue to do," think of a child's smile, a mother's answered prayers and a village's rebirth. Think of revitalized churches, healthy children and togetherness as a denomination. Think of being God's hands and feet in a world starving for love.
God bless you for caring.
We do not want to leave anyone out when applauding contributions to the Imagine No Malaria campaign. Please share this specially produced "shout out" with church members, friends, family and all those who have a passion for participating in this important mission, as well as those who have not yet heard about this important cause. We have so much more to tell and so many more people who need to hear. Watch the video now.
Thank You for Supporting Imagine No Malaria
