 With deep sympathy and prayers, we share news of the passing ofMay Blackstad, of our congregation.
May passed from this life on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in Torrance, CA, after suffering a stroke; she was born on May 27, 1922, in Alden, Iowa. May is survived by her three children: James Blackstad, Susan Cicero and Thomas Blackstad, as well as two grandchildren, Kiley and Chris. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Glenn. May joined the church in 1989, and was active in her United Methodist Women's circle. She worked for many years as an associate at Montgomery Ward, and loved needlepoint, reading, and walking. She loved the friendships and community she found at church.
We will share word of any memorial service, as plans are made.
"O Lord, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Look down upon our sorrowing hearts today, we humbly pray, and be gracious. Help all who mourn to cast every care upon you, and find comfort, through Jesus Christ our Lord."
